Democrat Trisha Calvarese Confronts Rep. Boebert on Radio

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Highlands Ranch, CO (Feb. 4 2026) – During a radio appearance this morning, Rep. Lauren Boebert told listeners she “doesn’t pretend to vote one way and do another.” Her record tells a very different story.

Democratic candidate Trisha Calvarese called into the show and asked “Representative Boebert, you haven't shown up in-district to do a town hall of any kind face to face… You said you don't give a rip about Epstein, and I completely believe you. If you don't actually care when powerful people abuse children, what do you actually care about?”

Boebert responded with a monologue of claims that are flatly contradicted by her own actions in Congress.

Here are the facts:

  • Boebert claimed her tele-town halls are transparent and recorded. Boebert specifically cited tele-town halls as evidence of accountability. However, her October 15 tele-town hall was never released to the public, despite being advertised and despite her claim that such events are recorded and accessible.

  • Boebert claims credit for water infrastructure she failed to deliver. Boebert touts her work on the Arkansas Valley Conduit, but she could not secure the votes needed to override a Trump veto that killed the project. Political theater is the only place she’s not hands-on.

  • Boebert voted against every project she now claims to support. On the air, Boebert portrayed herself as a champion of water storage and local infrastructure. In reality, she voted against funding for every single project she now cites, including projects benefiting rural hospitals, water districts, and local communities in her own district.

  • Boebert added earmarks, then voted against the bill. Boebert inserted $3 million in project earmarks into the FY2026 minibus appropriations bill, then voted against the very bill containing her own requests.

  • Boebert’s rhetoric doesn’t match her record. On the radio, Boebert accused others of campaigning one way and governing another. Yet her own voting history shows a consistent pattern: oppose the funding, then campaign as if she delivered it.

After the exchange, Calvarese noted on air that “Lauren Boebert is actually telling on herself, because she's pretending to be an effective lawmaker. She's pretending to be good at her job. And frankly, she's not.

“When I asked her that question about what she cares about, I didn't hear her for one second talk about the hardworking people in our district.

“She’s asking for money for projects that are already underway, already planned, in Douglas, Morgan, and Weld Counties at an order of magnitude lower than what’s needed to complete them. She voted to kill funding for upgrades to our rural hospitals in Cheyenne Wells, Fort Morgan, and Hugo. She requests small earmarks and then she votes against the bills to fund them. How dumb does she think we are?”

Trisha Calvarese is running to replace Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s 4th District.
